Building your PLN (Personal Learning Network)

PLN as an umbrella in which to teach Digital Citizenship
Guiding question:  Start with authentic purpose, “Is this useful” as a question to start with when we would post something online

Creating an audience for their work as students, student as publisher to a world wide audience; when you use a blogging site like “kidblog.org” and make your content “findable” you need to have presence online; allows the teacher to set parameters for interaction between the students, between parents and students, between students and the wider world

Different learning objectives students could meet by working with other people online:
Writing for a variety of purposes
Writing for a variety of audiences
Learning and understanding digital citizen ship
Publication skills, proof reading, carrying things toward
